BCR sells record high of U.S. $ 492 million but depreciated 0.04% sun

El nuevo sol depreciated 0.04 percent against the dollar at the close of trading today, a day in which the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) intervened in the foreign exchange market by selling $ 492 million , which represented a record for a single day.

Thus, the exchange rate ended today in 2831 soles per dollar, higher than the yesterday of 2,830 soles.

The dollar selling rate in the parallel market stood at 2,844 soles in the afternoon, while in the windows of major banks stood at 2.93 soles on average.

analyst at consultancy Maximixe, José Rázuri, said that during the day was a dynamic demand for dollars from various investors, which encouraged the active involvement of the BCR.

"Investors are still sheltering in the U.S. currency for the electoral and Central Bank intervention is a message to traders that are willing to intervene so that the dollar did not register significant increases" , declaró a la agencia Andina.

should be noted that the previous record sale of dollars by the BCR in a single day was 444 million in October 2008 amid the outbreak of the international financial crisis.

During the day today the BCR also placed 750 million soles in certificates of deposit for three months.

So far this year the sun has depreciated 0.86 percent given that the dollar closed today at 2,831 soles, after finishing last year at 2,807 suns.

According to the BCV, the dollar showed a minimum level of 2,829 and a maximum of 2,838 soles soles in the day today, plus an average price of 2,833 soles.

The BCR has purchased 497 million dollars in the foreign exchange market so far this year and has sold 583 million, while last year bought 8,963.10 million. Via
